Like many of you, my work requires me to stay up-to-date with the latest news on environmental science, social justice, and public policy. It's often hard. There are some big hits to absorb, and it feels like they just keep coming. It doesn't take long to feel overwhelmed.
I follow the advice to "dose" my news - limit my daily exposure. But I've also found it useful to seek out good news networks, media outlets that focus on positive endeavours and spotlight the wins.
One I trust is Fix The News Steven Pinker calls it "by an order of magnitude, the best source for positive news anywhere on the internet."
It's not about turning away from the bleak news, or masking the problems. It's simply refueling the resilience tank, and reminding me how much good there is in the world. And who doesn't need that reminder?
